Srdečně Vás zveme na jedinečnou site-specific výstavu v Galerii Rabenštejnská.
Francouzský umělec Fred Martin, který za posledních 25 let procestoval svět se svými výtvarnými instalacemi, ponořil tváře návštěvníků do hliněné lázně a z jejich sádrových odlitků následně sestavil jedinečné umělecké dílo. Tento umělecký rituál odkazuje na naše znovuzrození i odhalení. Masky, které nás nezakrývají, ale naopak odhalují nejjemnější a nejintimnější detaily tváře, byly vytvořeny během ceremoniálu založeném na sdílení a sblížení skrze autentický společný zážitek.
Fred Martin se věnuje sochařství, fotografii, performanci, kresbě a grafice. Jeho tvorba je založena na přímém vztahu k přírodě, krajině a lidskému tělu a ve svých projektech (L’Odyssée, monumentální sochy z vrbových větví atd.) sleduje landartový přístup využívající dřevo a hlínu. V roce 1999 začal rozvíjet princip Baptêmes de Terre / Earth Baptisms, performativní instalace a participativního rituálu, ve kterém je textura hlíny použita k odhalení intimity, autenticity a našich vztahů s ostatními jako materiál pro hluboce humanistické dílo.
Po skončení výstavy bude možné si masku vyzvednout.
Performance a výstava je součástí 17. ročníku festivalu Umění ve městě.

We cordially invite you to a unique site-specific exhibition at the Rabenštejnská Gallery.
French artist Fred Martin, who has travelled the world with his art installations over the last 25 years, immersed the faces of visitors in a clay bath and then assembled a unique work of art from their plaster casts. This artistic ritual refers to our rebirth and revelation. The masks, which do not obscure us but instead reveal the most delicate and intimate details of the face, were created during a ceremony based on sharing and bonding through an authentic shared experience.
After the end of the exhibition, you can pick your masks up.
Performance and exhibition are part of 17th Annual Festival Umění ve městě/Art in the city.
Through his ritual performance, Lille-based artist, Fred Martin, who has been travelling the world for the past twenty-five years, immerses participants’ faces in a bath of clay to form a plaster copy that is then exhibited in a monumental installation composed of all the casts. This artistic ceremony functions as both a rebirth and a revelation, with masks that do not conceal but rather reveal the most minute and intimate details of a face, in an authentic experience based on sharing and bringing people together around a magnificent common work of art.
Born in 1969 in Lille, where he still lives and works, Fred Martin has a DNSEP degree in artistic expression from the École des Beaux-Arts in Tourcoing and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Lille. He does sculpture, photography, performance, drawing and printmaking. He cultivates a direct relationship with nature, the countryside and the human body, and follows a land art approach using wood and earth for his various projects (L’Odyssée, the monumental willow branch sculptures of Inanimatu, etc.). In 1999, he began developing the principle of Baptêmes de terre, a performance installation and participatory ritual in which the texture of clay is used to reveal, and intimacy, authenticity and our relationships with others serve as the material for a deeply humanistic piece.
